There was a bit of a rush on with the short week but we had to design the functional aspects of a jewellery display case that could be opened to allow easy removal of the necklace. The client was departing for Sydney the day we made the frame and due to the value of the item we could only have it for a few hours whilst the fixings were being installed.
Some of the challenges included concealing an extra length of gold chain where the necklace had been shortened and to have the item floating up off the backing. The red suede backing had been supplied by the interior designer and had to be formed into the oval support shape. Will be posting a video of the construction soon.
